The Spotsylvania Building Safety Roundtable is an informal gathering of contractor and builders to discuss building code issues and related topics. The program is designed for residential builders, contractors, and design professionals; but is open to all.
The bi-monthly roundtable meets the first Tuesday of the even numbered months in the Community Development main conference room of the Building Safety Department, 9019 Old Battlefield Blvd, 3rd floor.
Doors open at 11:30 for brown bag lunch, (You eat what you bring) and informal discussions with builders and building department staff.
The program starts at noon, followed by Q&A and ends promptly at 1pm.
The program is designed to give the building community an opportunity to speak one on one with the Building Safety Department management team. The Deputy Building Official runs the meeting and the Building Official and Inspection Supervisor are typically in attendance as well.
The meeting starts with a half hour informal gathering where you are invited to bring your lunch and have informal conversation with staff and your fellow contractors and builders. At noon the formal program begins. It typically will include an update on anything going on in the Building Safety Department including Intake, Plan Review and Inspections issues. The floor is then opened up to the participants to ask questions, voice concerns about any matter dealing with the Building Safety Department. All areas of the department are open for discussion; we will even accept compliments! The meeting ends promptly at 1:00. The Building Staff will hang around after 1:00 if needed to finish a conversation or address a specific issue if needed
